Delete your AdWitch account

Use the authenticated self-service flow:

1. Open Profile → Security → Delete account.
2. Enter your password if your account has one and submit the request.
3. Open the confirmation email and follow its link within 24 hours.
4. Deletion is scheduled with a 14-day grace period. You can cancel it from Profile → Security during that period.
5. After the grace period, erasure starts and the account can no longer be recovered.

If you cannot sign in, email privacy@adwitch.ai; we will verify identity before acting.

Export before deletion

Before confirming deletion, use Profile → Security → Export data. We email a download link when the JSON export is ready. The link and export file expire after 72 hours. Exporting does not pause deletion, so download it before the grace period ends.

What happens to data

At erasure we:

• remove or anonymise profile identifiers, login credentials, 2FA secrets and recovery codes;
• terminate sessions and remove authentication/reset records;
• remove team membership; a solely owned team is queued for deletion;
• disconnect connected Meta accounts and clear stored access tokens;
• delete user ideas and data that no longer has an operating or legal purpose;
• anonymise retained audit records so actor names/emails are removed.

Billing and transaction evidence is retained in anonymised form for up to 10 years where required. Audit logs may remain for 24 months for security and accountability. Legal holds may require limited records for longer.

Known media limitation: image or video files already published to the CDN may persist until the follow-up media cleanup runs. They may remain reachable during that interval even after the account erasure step. We state this plainly rather than promising immediate CDN removal.

Meta’s data-deletion callback is separate

Removing AdWitch in Facebook/Meta settings (or requesting deletion there) invokes Meta’s deauthorize and data-deletion callbacks. For the Facebook user in that request we erase everything we obtained from Meta about them: the stored access tokens, the Facebook user id and name, token metadata (type, expiry, granted permissions), the cached directory of Facebook Pages of the teams they connected, and any unfinished Facebook authorisations; the linked ad accounts are disconnected. Meta receives a confirmation code and a status URL that shows exactly what was erased. The record behind that status (the code, the Facebook user id of the request, what was erased and the counts) is written in the same database transaction as the erasure and kept for 90 days so the status can be looked up; it is then deleted automatically. This stops AdWitch’s Meta access, but does not delete your AdWitch account or the team’s campaign data, because a Meta user identifier is not the AdWitch account identity. To delete the account, use Profile → Security → Delete account.

Timelines and status

The Security page shows whether a request is awaiting confirmation, scheduled, cancelled, processing, completed, or failed. A failed automated step is retried; contact us if status does not progress.
